What a dental implant is

Osseointegration, how the implant becomes part of you
Osseointegration is the process by which bone grows into direct contact with the implant surface and locks it permanently in place. It is the reason the implant process takes time: depending on your oral health, you can expect the full journey, from placement to the final crown, to take between six and ten months.
Haste is the enemy of the implant. If the implant were loaded with a permanent crown before the bone had secured it, tiny movements would prevent integration. So the surgeon waits for healing, from a few weeks to a few months, and only then moves on to the prosthetic stage. During this period you are not left “without a tooth”: in visible areas, a temporary restoration can be worn.
You need sufficient bone tissue for the implant to anchor. When the bone is not sufficient, it can be rebuilt, more on that below.
Are you a good candidate for an implant?

In the upper jaw, towards the back, the special consideration is the proximity of the maxillary sinus: when the remaining bone height is too low, a sinus lift is performed, a controlled lifting of the sinus membrane with bone added beneath it. Yes, it is possible to receive dental implants for a complete arch, the solution for patients who have lost all the teeth on an arch, or whose remaining teeth can no longer be saved. The process involves several steps and procedures, but the result transforms everyday life.
The All-on-X principle: instead of replacing each tooth with its own implant, the entire arch is supported by just a few implants (3,500 EUR), positioned strategically where the bone is good. Onto them a fixed prosthetic restoration is secured, first a provisional one (2,300 lei), then the final restoration (10,000 lei), which is not taken out at night, does not move at mealtimes, and is cared for much like natural teeth.
Compared with a conventional removable denture, the difference is fundamental: the implant-supported restoration stays fixed, you chew efficiently, you speak clearly, and the bone stays stimulated by the implants instead of resorbing under a denture. The surgeon-implantologist examines the area and takes a panoramic X-ray in the clinic to assess the available bone. You receive the complete treatment plan, the recommended implant system, any bone grafting procedures and the exact cost, before anything begins.

Placing the implant
